There are two open water swimming clubs that conduct the Alcatraz swim, one of the city's most rewarding experiences. In addition to all the outdoor attractions, San Fransisco is home to world-class museums, symphonies, opera, and cultural institutions. For some intellectual stimulation, you can be informed and join The Commonwealth Club or attend City Arts and Lectures.
